Here’s our top tips for traning, from our own experiences…
Be patient
Not everyone learns in the same way so be open minded with your approach and adapt to cater for different learning styles.
In light of this, we’ve amended our step-by-step process to a new training stategy with a degree of flexibility allowing for training to be tailored to the individual. After all, we need our Call Handlers to have the initiative to respond to each call differently or we might as well be robots!
Take a modular approach
Bitesize chunks are the way forwards! Start with the basics and build up responsibility in due course. It’s simple really, invest time in your team and they’ll feel valued and stay.
At PCM HQ each stage of training is assessed and signed off, before our new employee moves onto the next element of the training strategy.
Don’t rush
By all means it’s good to have goal posts and suggested deadlines but overloading a new starter will only result in errors and unneccessary pressure.
Working at a steady pace means your new employee will understand your business, your clients and be more productive. Better still, their strengths will shine through almost immediately!
