Do you understand the price hike that came into force on business rate and premium rate numbers earlier this year?
Here’s a quick round-up of costs per call…
084 / 087 numbers
The cost for calling 084 and 087 prefixes have been split into an access charge (a cost per minute from your provider to connect the call) and a service charge (from the organisation you are trying to call)
Adding the costs together will give you the price per call, but as a rough estimate this is between 3p and 18p per minute from a landline adn between 6p and 51p per minute from a mobile
In light of this, we’ve changed our phone number from 0845 606 6925 to 0345 606 6925 to ensure call costs are covered by inclusive mobile minutes or remain in low call cost bandings.
09 / 118 numbers
Competitions, directory enquiries, helplines and other numbers that start with 09 or 118 are also included in the same price banding as above.
0800 / 0808 numbers
If you have an 0800 number or 0808, these remain as freephone numbers
01 / 02 / 03 / 0300 / 0345 numbers
01 and 02 numbers are regional numbers whilst 03 / 0300 / 0345 fall into UK – wide categories but all are within the same price banding of up to 12p per minute from a landline and between 3p and 45p per minute from a mobile, depending on your service provider.
